Pitch Competition Strategy, Planning, & Implementation

We have run, organized, and mentored student pitch competitions for nearly a decade. We take students from “I have an idea” to “I have a venture!”

The goal of our pitch competitions: To empower first-time, aspiring entrepreneurs with the knowledge, tools, and support to bring a business to life. Our pitch competition style is highly interactive and simulates a real-life investor pitch where judges provide feedback to students as though they are real entrepreneurs.

Our pitch competitions help students explore how to create value through a new business or social impact venture. The pitch encourages students to share their ideas with the world. Because we are founders - and have worked with many student founders - we recognize and appreciate that this is a brave act, and thus, requires resilient mindset coaching in addition to the business fundamentals.

Students will learn how to find a problem worth solving, test their problem and solution in the market, and how to mobilize the people and resources to solve the problem. Students engage in customer development, market research, and business plan development as well as explore options for commercializing a venture.

Beyond the hard skills needed to grow a business, founders need to have the skills and confidence to ask. Fearless asking skills are imperative for obtaining outside capital and succeeding in entrepreneurial selling, fundraising, team building, stakeholder development and every aspect of a business organization, operation, and partnership. The primary reason deals, sales, and opportunities stall is a failure to ask for and get next steps.
